Order Terms

Last updated: September 14, 2026

At Wood Floors of Dallas, every hardwood, laminate, and tile order is made-to-order — produced or lot-matched fresh from the manufacturer specifically for your project. We believe this is the right way to sell premium flooring, and it's how the best specialist dealers operate. Please read the terms below carefully before placing your order.

How your order works

  1. You place your order through our website or with a member of our team. Payment is processed at the time of order.
  2. We generate a purchase order to the manufacturer within one business day.
  3. The manufacturer confirms production and shipping timeline. For most in-line products, this is 2–3 weeks. Specialty items or custom colors may take 4–8 weeks — you'll be notified of any timeline exceeding 3 weeks within 2 business days of your order.
  4. Freight ships to your delivery address or to our Lewisville warehouse for local delivery/pickup.
  5. You inspect on arrival and sign for delivery. Damage must be noted on the freight receipt before signing (see "Freight damage" below).

Why we work this way

Warehouse-aged flooring loses moisture content consistency, and lot-to-lot color and grain variation can be significant. By ordering fresh from the manufacturer for each project, we ensure:

  • Lot consistency across every box in your order
  • Fresh finish with full warranty coverage
  • Correct moisture content for the Texas climate
  • Access to the manufacturer's full grade and color range — not just what happens to be in stock somewhere

This is how European mills like DuChâteau, Bjelin, Panaget, and premium American mills like Provenza operate. It's the standard for premium hardwood.

Sample orders

We strongly encourage every customer to order samples before placing a floor order.

  • Samples are $5 each, shipped free
  • Limit 5 samples per customer per order
  • Samples ship within 2 business days
  • Your sample cost is credited back to your first floor order of $500 or more
  • Samples are not subject to restocking fees — they are yours to keep

Once you've seen the product in your own lighting, alongside your cabinets, paint, and furniture, you can order with confidence.

Order changes and cancellations

  • Changes or cancellation within 24 hours of order placement: free, no fee, provided we have not yet transmitted the PO to the manufacturer.
  • After 24 hours or after PO transmission: cancellation is not guaranteed. If the manufacturer has begun production or scheduled shipping, cancellation may not be possible. Contact us immediately — we'll do everything we can.

Returns and restocking fee

Because every order is custom-produced or lot-matched, we cannot return material to the manufacturer without incurring a restocking fee.

  • Returns of unopened, undamaged product within 30 days of delivery are accepted subject to a 35% restocking fee
  • The restocking fee covers the manufacturer's restocking charge, return freight, inspection, and re-warehousing
  • Customer is responsible for return freight (or may return to our Lewisville warehouse)
  • Opened boxes, installed material, or damaged product cannot be returned
  • Custom orders, custom colors, and discontinued items are final sale and non-returnable

By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept the 35% restocking fee on eligible returns. This fee is disclosed on every product page, in your cart, at checkout, and in your order confirmation email.

Freight damage

Flooring ships by freight carrier (LTL). Damage during transit is uncommon but does happen.

On delivery:

  1. Inspect every carton before signing the freight receipt
  2. Note any visible damage, dents, punctures, or crushed corners on the freight receipt before signing
  3. Take clear photos of any damaged cartons and the freight receipt
  4. Contact us within 24 hours

If damage is signed for without notation, freight claims are extremely difficult and may not be honored. Please take the extra 5 minutes to inspect — we know it feels awkward with the driver waiting, but it protects your investment.

Warranty

Manufacturer warranties (typically 25–50 years residential, 5–10 years commercial) apply to every product we sell. Warranty coverage requires professional installation according to manufacturer instructions and proper subfloor preparation. We can provide warranty documentation with your order — just ask.

Installation

We offer professional installation throughout the DFW metroplex. Installation is a separate service quoted based on your project. Contact us for an install quote.
